Mechanism

Stick hit metal and metal make sound. Metal go woing. Fans in tube make metal go woingoingoingoing. With two sticks you can make two metals go woing at the same time. Hit two metals at good timing and you get music.

But of course you can do things other than just hit. If you take a double bass bow and drag it along the metal edge, the metal will go eeerrrwg. The sound is super cool and blows the mind of every single person on this planet.

You can also take a soft mallet, and when the metal is going woing, push the metal with your soft mallet. The woing will BEND. That's how you BEND a note on the vibraphone. Crazy!!!
