- Everything by David Bowie, but mostly
- The two self-titled ones [1]
- The second one is easier to explain, just containing some really beautiful and interesting acoustic guitar songs (and sometimes other instruments as well). Check out the Conversation Piece box set too.
- The first one is a bit harder to explain but it’s just really really good regardless what anyone says.
- The Man who Sold the World (except for the title track)
- Small collection of incredible proggy jammy rock songs. And the title track.
- The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (obviously)
- Obviously
- Diamond Dogs
- Less consistent but more interesting and higher highs than Ziggy
- Low
- Earthling

- The United States of America’s self-titled and only album
- First people to do electronic rock AND ve really really good at it.
- Everything by my bloody valentine and especially m b v
- Lifechanging stuff
- Most things the Smashing Pumpkins did before Adore, especially Siamese Dream, and some things they did after
- Can say a lot of things about the Smashing Pumpkins but the bottom line is that they made really really good music.
- In Ribbons by Pale Saints
- Incredibly tragically overlooked classic shoegaze album cause it’s phenomenal.
- Blue Rev by Alvvays
- Probably the definitive post-2013 shoegaze statement.
- Downward is Heavenward by Hum
- The best Deftones album.
- Fear of a Blank Planet by Porcupine Tree (and to a lesser extent, In Absentia)
- Ignore the cringy lyrics and you’re left with a really fantastic collection of modern prog and prog metal tunes.
- Everything by Daft Punk and especially Human After All, Discovery, and Alive 2007
- Human After All is Daft Punk’s Best Album and Here Isn’t Why
- Everything by Justice and especially Woman and their remix of Electric Feel
- If you think you hate disco, you’re wrong.
- Everything by Digitalism pre-2017 and especially Mirage, and some things post-2017, especially Glow
- Uh yeah
- Everything by deadmau5 and especially while(1<2) and Get Scraped
- deadmau5 kinda fell off by becoming famous
- Everything by the Chemical Brothers, but especially Push the Button, Dig Your Own Hole, Further, and Surrender (in that order)
- Drums
- Moon Safari by Air
- Sex music. Also the Frenchest album that exists.
- Dummy by Portishead
- Just hauntingly beautiful stuff. Apparently people like to have sex to this one too but I don’t understand that. Unless you want to feel like you’re in a sex scene in a murder mystery film.
- The Last Resort by trentemøller
- Really varied but still really cohesive collection of gorgeous glitchy downtempo electronic musics.
- Hold Your Colour by Pendulum
- Pendulum invented modern DnB with this one but unfortunately they were the only ones who were nearly this good at it.
- Lamb, Fear of Fours, and Backspace Unwind by Lamb
- Unfortunately their other albums are mostly boring. Their best song, Small, is on What Sound, though.
- In Between by Jazzanova
- Insane album. A lot of jazz.
- A Walk Across the Rooftops (Deluxe) by The Blue Nile
- Really beautiful album to prove music from the ’80s CAN be good. It really picks up after the first few songs.
- Wallsocket by underscores
- One of the best albums in recent memory.
- rom com 2024 by Soccer Mommy
- Just one song but WHAT A SONG.
