An example is something you use to say something else. For example, if I was trying to illustrate some best practices in explaining a concept in a wiki, one of the core tenets would be not to explain it using that concept.
The phrase "for Example" is used to summon the power of Explanation, and was a battle-cry for the Example Nation in the Pedants' War of 14151617. It is also used to signify a dedication to the spirit of John Example, his favourite being gin.
Usage of examples
Examples may be difficult to wrap your head around, mainly because they may not actually exist. Here are some examples of examples of things.
- This page is an example of someone trying too hard to make a joke work.
