How 2 make a "Web Site"

Hello! You deserve a good home on the world wide web.

Today's web is littered with the graves of platforms that existed for long enough to slurp up enough precious user data, and then exploded into roughly one quadrillion pieces. If you've gone though this cycle enough times, you'll have probably thought about setting up a real website, with a real domain and real HTML. But that can be a pretty scary prospect!

While many think that the art of web design has been relegated to the few with decades of experience in the field, I'm here to convince you it's not as hard as you think it is. Despite the list of things you can do with the web growing massively over the years, its foundations remain remarkably simple: it's still fundamentally just a text document that you can format with tags.

This lovely little guide has been written to (hopefully!) help you understand the basics of HTML, web design, typography and such. We'll also touch on some simple JavaScript, Static Site Generators, so on and so forth. and if you don't know what any of those words mean, not to worry, all will be revealed in time.
