Spleef

Spleef, also known as Shovelgame was the first piece of Shovelware[1] released for Minecraft on the Nintendo Wii.
plot
Every player in spleef begins with a randomized amount of generational wealth. The goal of the game is to dodge taxes and beat the other players into pulp with your shovel until you are the last (and richest) player standing. In spleef, rich players corner the market with scorched-earth tactics, destroying the ground beneath their enemies' feet.

in popular culture
Spleef is frequently used as an analogy in economics classes for explaining the capitalist market dynamic of when the big fish eats all the little fishes and then runs out of fishes to eat and rolls over belly up and starts rotting a little bit and then gets so stinky that the proletariat wakes up and has to deal with it.
