Awesome cinnamon ice cream

This ice cream is really good guys.

You will need

• good vegan vanilla ice cream
• cinnamon powder
• cardamom powder
• orange blossom water or extract
• bit of salt if your vanilla ice cream doesn’t have any

Okay what do I do with this???

So you need vanilla ice cream as a base. For those in the Netherlands, Hertog has really good vegan vanilla ice cream. For those in the other part of the world, you can figure it out. I believe in you.

Add your cinnamon and be sure to add enough. It’s hard to overdo this unless you’re insane.

Add your cardamom but be careful!!! Cardamom is kind of an acquired taste and if you add too much your ice cream will turn out bitter and nasty unless you Really Love Cardamom. Make sure you acquaint yourself with cardamom lest you add too much (or too little!).

Finally, add your orange blossom water or extract. This is what elevates this ice cream from pretty normal to kind of unbelievably good. You don’t need that much but underdoing it is a waste, so I recommend trialing and erroring your way through this.

There has to be a bit of salt in here because salt makes everything better. If your ice cream manufacturer already put it in there for you, don’t bother, but otherwise you’ll have to take matters into your own hands.

Now stir and stir well! Your ice cream will turn kind of melty and gooey and liquid but that’s part of the appeal. Open your mind to new possibilities.

Is that it?

I haven’t tried adding cloves but I imagine that would work really well. Be careful though because you need even less of this than of cardamom!!!

You can also try other spices that tend to go well with cinnamon, like nutmeg/mace, ginger, and coriander seeds, but I imagine those would quickly skew the flavour towards something more gingerbread-like. Which can be a positive or negative thing depending on your politics.
