== History ==
Before PostNL was PreNL, the Netherlands' nationwide pigeon post service. It was a massive failure as pigeons were often distracted by stroopwafels, fries, and frikandel. Postal workers attempted to keep pigeons away from food by keeping pigeons well-fed before they delivered mail, however pigeons kept demanding more food quantities and qualities. After several failed talks with the pigeon union, post offices decided that it was better to simply have humans deliver mail.
Thus began the transition from PreNL to PostNL. Human postal workers were at first disappointed that they did not get to have quality bird seeds before cycling to deliver mail, but after negotiations they managed to convince the post office kitchen to cook them a big piece of bread every morning. Big Bread can be shared by 150 people and takes up a basketball stadium-sized room to store. Nowadays, postal workers typically have Big Bread slices with jam, peanut butter, or [[Johma Vegan Tuna Salad|plant based salmon spread]].
