The Earth is this big piece of rock in space. Everything that happens on it is bad, except for pronounmail the wiki and Thai curry.

Creation
Some people say the earth was formed by random space shit, others claim it was handcrafted by God, utilizing a level-editor such as Ultimate Doom Builder in combination with Slade for custom textures and sounds.
It's up to you to decide which one sounds more plausible.
Age
As of March 31st 2025, the Earth is old, and will continue to get older, due to Time.
The exact age has long been unknown, and until we finish scanning all of the metadata we really can't be sure.
