So you wanna start by counting up [[6]] blocks in this direction, we're gonna fill this area in with building blocks. You can use any building block, it doesn't really matter, I'll be using Smooth Stone for this. Now dig out a little trench next to it right here like so, and place a water bucket right... here. Okay. So we're gonna dig this area out real quick and place down our chest, just like that. Beautiful, now lets put a hopper facing into the chest just like so. Great! Now, this area right here, these blocks need to be sand or dirt. I'm gonna use sand because I think it looks better but either will work. So we'll just put down some sand in a little row just like this, okay. Now place down your sugarcane. Okay and then we'll come across here and build up the wall for the other side just like this... and then go back across the top with your pistons. Now this is really coming along. Okay, let's just finish up the sides here and then we can do the circuitry, don't worry it's really simple. We're gonna grab our observer and just plonk that right on top over here, make sure it's looking out towards where the sugarcane is so it sees when it grows. And then, we'll run a line of blocks over here just like so... and go back over that with a line of redstone... and just like that, everything's wired up! You might want to go and add some extra decorations behind here, I've got some examples of what that might look like here, and here. But the farm is basically done! If you need more sugarcane than this small farm can produce, you can expand this if you want to by adding more rows stacked upwards like this, or you can have these continue downward like a staircase like this.
